about

Mr. Steve Griffin is the director of APEX Christian Academy in Gallatin, TN, and an adjunct professor at Welch College.  APEX is a homeschool tutorial that offers in-person, virtual, and hybrid classes.  Before opening APEX, Mr. Steve was a missionary school teacher in the Dominican Republic for 10 years.  He has taught in 3 different Christian schools since 1998.

Mr. Steve has his undergrad in Youth Ministries/Education from Pensacola Christian College.  He also holds a Master's Degree in Math Education from Liberty University and is currently working on his Doctorate in learning design and technology from the University of Wyoming.

Mr. Steve attended a Christian school that used Abeka Books, went to Pensacola Christian College, and taught Abeka ever since.  He is more than equipped to help your child with their high school math problems.

Mr. Steve is married to Julia and they have 3 children, Carson, Callie, and Chloe.  They are active members at their local church and they love spending time together.  The decision to stop teaching full-time and focus on homeschooling the children was a difficult one for Mr. Steve, but he is confident that it is the right decision at this point in time.  He is still teaching a couple of classes a week at the homeschool tutorial and also teaches some evening classes at Welch College.

It is Mr. Steve's desire to help young people make good decisions in their lives and point them to Christ.  He uses math as a way to help them see the order God has created as well as learn step-by-step processes that will help them better follow Him.
